13th May 2005 Windsurfing: Portland Wind Direction: ENE Wind Stength: 15-30knts Surf / Sea State: Bump & Jump Air Temperature: 12 Sea Temperature: Weather: Sunny Max Speed: Distance Covered: Got there fir 2:30 and it was blowing quite hard. I rigged the 5.75 and max 2 air, but the wind dropped as I launched. Wobbled out & back, came back up the beach swearing. Re-rigged on the 6.5 and grabbed the stoke, wobbled about again. i was tempted to come in and get the 8.5, but the wind started to pick up so i did some great runs to the far side of the harbour and back. The wind went round more easterly and picked up again, so after putting on a load more down and outhaul, came back in to get the Max again. Had a great time racing around on it, failing to jump and gybe but enjoying it all the same. Came in when I was overpowered on the sail, too tired and cold (it was about 7:00pm by then) to carry on. Happy daze |
